71. EQUIPMENT FOR BOATS :-Every boat forming part of the statutory life saving appliances of any ship of Group I. Class 13 shall be provided with the full equipment for life boats specified in the Instructions subject to the following exceptions:-
Sea Anchor, Breakers, Dipper, Side Ladders, Mast, Mast and rigging fittings, Sails, Oil, Oil bag, Red Lights, Biscuits, Condensed Milk, Compasses.
72. LIFE-BUOYS :— -A ship of this Class if 80 feet re- gistered length or over shall carry at least four approved life-buoys, and if under 80 feet at least two approved life- buoys. Not less than two life-buoys shall have attached efficient self-igniting lights which cannot be extinguished in
water.
73. LIFE-JACKETS:-One approved life-jacket shall be carried for each person on board.

75. A ship of Group II. Class 2, if 80 feet registered length or over, shall carry approved boats of Class 3 (in accordance with Table No. 17) and approved life-buoys (in accordance with Table No. 18) and such approved buoyant apparatus as shall together be sufficient for not less than 55 per cent of the number of persons the ship is licensed to carry; also with approved life-jackets for not less than 20 per cent of the said number.
A ship of Group II. Class 2 if less than 80 feet re- gistered length shall carry approved life-buoys (in accordance with Table No. 18) and such approved buoyant apparatus as shall altogether be sufficient for not less than 75 per cent of the number of persons the ship is licensed to carry.
76. A ship of Group II. Class 3 if 80 feet registered length or over, shall carry approved boats of Class 3 (in accordance with Table No. 17) and approved life-buoys (in accordance with Table No. 18) and such approved buoyant apparatus as shall together be sufficient for not less than 70 per cent of the number of persons the ship is licensed to carry; also with approved life-jackets for not less than 30 per cent of the said number.
A ship of Group II. Class 3. if less than 80 feet re- gistered length shall carry approved life-buoys (in accordance with Table No. 18) and such approved buoyant apparatus as shall together be sufficient for not less than the total number of persons the ship is licensed to carry.

Ships licensed for the carriage of passengers.
74. A ship of Group II. Class 1 shall carry approved life-buoys (in accordance with Table No. 18) and such ap- proved buoyant apparatus as shall together be sufficient for not less than 50 per cent of the number of persons the ship is licensed to carry,
Ships not licensed for the carriage of passengers.
77. A ship of Group II. Class 1, 2, 3 or 4, if 80 feet registered length or over, shall carry approved boats of Class 3 (in accordance with Table No. 17) and at least four ap- proved life-buoys.
78. One approved life-jacket shall be carried for each person on board.
